The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is pleased to offer students the opportunity to showcase their participation in select events occurring outside of the traditional classroom environment through the recently launched Co-Curricular Transcript (CCT).
What is the CCT?
The Co-Curricular Transcript is maintained by the Center for Student Engagement, and all experiences that are included on the CCT receive final approval by this university center. Students are able to include activities spanning the Five Volunteer Experiences on their CCT. These areas include:
- Leadership Experiences
- Service Experiences
- International Education Experiences
- Professional or Applied Experiences
- Undergraduate Research Experiences
Each experience is validated by the university office, program, center, or department responsible for leading and supporting that educational opportunity here at UTK. In turn, the university maintains a record of validated experiences in a centralized system. Thus, students do not actually input their experiences onto their own CCTs.
Why is the CCT important for students?
Co-Curricular Transcripts can highlight important experiences that may otherwise not be represented on your academic transcript or resume. The CCT from UTK will allow you to provide a potential employer with a verified list of your activities and growth within the Five Volunteer Experiences. Furthermore, your CCT can reflect the real-world experience you’ve obtained by leading or participating in these areas, which is a growing point of focus amongst potential employers. At the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, we recognize that experiential learning is important, and we want to provide you with avenues to participate in experiential learning and demonstrate your accomplishments through documents like the CCT.
How do I find more information?
For more information about the criteria required for each of these Five Volunteer Experiences, accessing your CCT, or ordering a copy of your CCT, please visit the Center for Student Engagement’s Co-Curricular Transcript website.
